What are the types of monolithic fireproof glass?

Fireproof glass is divided into monolithic fireproof glass and composite fireproof glass. It is composed of single glass and meets the corresponding fire resistance grade of special glass. Meanwhile, Class 0 fireproof glass is fireproof glass that meets the requirements of fire resistance integrity. At present, there are mainly two types of monolithic fireproof glass at home and abroad:

1. Borosilicate glass: the glass contains high components of boron oxide and alumina, which greatly reduces the thermal expansion coefficient of the glass, and then can accept rapid heating and cooling, which has the function of fire prevention. The manufacturing process of boron silicate glass is characterized by low melting rate, especially the process of forming flat glass. Therefore, borosilicate glass is mostly used to make special-shaped glass products such as chemical instrument glass and heat-resistant utensils.

2. High strength tempered glass: because the glass is a kind of brittle glass, which cannot be pressed, the glass strength is often improved by tempering the flat glass, so that the glass can accept the thermal stress generated during rapid heating (or rapid cooling), and then has the function of fire prevention. Generally toughened glass has fire-proof function, but it can not be used as fire-proof glass, mainly because its surface compressive stress is not high enough and its strength is not high. Only high-strength tempered glass can be used as fireproof glass.
